IRAN : Where are my missiles ?
14.08.2009

© IRAN-RESIST.ORG – August 14 2009 | For long time, Americans threatened to strike Iranian nuclear plants as military option In order to become able to face such threat, Tehran searched for long for acquiring a worthy anti-aircraft defence but it didn’t manage to get it. Because it lacks of such equipment, it is asking currently to the AEIA for a solution that could make such strike forbidden.

One of the constituents of the Iranian nuclear crisis is the threat. Faced with the threat of Iran’s military nuclear increasing abilities, the United States implies from time to time that it could carry out some military intervention or allow Israelis to do the job. Thus the United States behaves in a way to intimidate the mullahs and push them to dialogue with them in order to enter into a bilateral agreement which would be very profitable for Americans. Tehran is the main obstacle to subaquatic pipelines ways that are meant to open up Central Asia. In case of agreement, the United States would untie this region that is rich in hydrocarbon from the Russian and Chinese double influence. This would inflict serious damages to the economy of those both adversaries.

However the strike threat is meaningless : if the United States would allow such intervention, the mullahs’ regime would become the victim of an aggression and would receive immediately Russian and Chinese support. We would then head towards some global agreement between Iran and the Six or Washington would even make Tehran make some unilateral step towards Moscow or Peking.

Despite the vacuity of such threat, Tehran looks for obtaining a worthy anti-aircraft defence, in particular the high-performance S300 Russian system that could neutralize any large-scale attack that would be carried out by stealth planes.

Thanks to this Russian anti-aircraft defence, the forces balance will change : the United States will be deprived of such bluffing threat and will need to reinforce sanctions against the mullahs. This is what Tehran wishes : a crisis increase in order to head towards some global agreement that Washington doesn’t wish in order to push Americans to show greater flexibility. To sum up, Tehran would like to use Russian defensive power to strike an agreement with Americans ! This is the reason why Moscow refuses to deliver such anti-aircraft defence that was purchased in 2007 although it already delivered it to every of its allies and among them Chavez. Likewise, because of the same shady reason that impels the mullahs, Chinese and Russians refused Iran’s membership request to enter into the Organization of Cooperation of Shanghai which is described as a Sino-Russian NATO.

In the absence of any evolution that would be favourable to its expectations and that would be initiated by its weighty allies, Tehran addressed to the AEIA to establish a rule “that would forbid any military strike on nuclear plants anywhere in the world”. The mullahs’ regime will request such subject to be discussed on September during the next session of the AEIA Council of Governors.

Ali-Ashghar Soltanieh, the AEIA Iranian representative, specified that this offer aimed at limiting Israel because this State doesn’t benefit from a favourable rating among AEIA members that are jealous of its nuclear arsenal it acquired by violating UNO anti-proliferation rules. Actually, in the absence of any anti-aircraft defence, Tehran brought the case to political and polemical field in which it considers itself as quite strong. However we should not panic : in 1990, the mullahs’ regime did the same offer to the AEIA and it didn’t win out.

This early request were submitted to the Atomic Agency under the presidency of Rafsanjani, the father of the present Iranian nuclear and ballistic program, the regime’s boss who plays currently the nice moderate’s part.
