ANTI-AHMADINEJAD DEMONSTRATION
13.12.2006

Few days ago, Iranian students set fire on pictures representing Ahmadinejad in front of him and shouted “Death to the dictator”. The video of the scene (provided by the governmental agency MEHR) has been broadcasted around the globe. Apparently these students were unaware of the Islamic republic constitution: The president of the mullah’s regime has no executive power.

The power in Iran is in the Rafsandjani’s hands. His protectors are the Pasdaran and the Bassidjis, his symbols are Khomeiny, Khamenei and the flag with the sign of Islam (which consists of four crescents and a sword). None of these totalitarism symbols have been maltreated by these “students”. This masquerade has been put in place only for occidental media who attach importance to the presidential title of Ahmadinejad. At the risk of being repetitive : the president of mullah’s regime has no power and those who are unaware of this constitutional element cannot then be students.

This fake demonstration followed up the « Students Day » that we had also condemned. This day, students held posters representing Ahmadenejad with his picture upside down to protest again his politics! In fact, holding photos upside down refers to a down-turned thumb, symbolic sign and immediately understood by the occidentals. An up-turned thumb has not the same meaning in Iran because it is interpreted as flipping somebody the bird! Everything in this fake demonstration targeted occidental Medias. A crossed out photo would be more explicit.

Despite the stir made by information recyclers of the mullahs which are the websites www.iranfocus.com (owned by MKO) and www.iranpressnew.com (correct political tendencies Ledeen/Ganji), the fake demonstration of December 7th did not attracted the full attention of occidental medias and the regime has decided to switch to next gear : With the presence of Ahmadinejad, some students have insulted him and set his portrait on fire (the same as December 12). The “students” had said “push off liar” and “down with dictator” and ahmadinejad answered to these insults “the protestation is the right of students”. There were the same kind of demonstrations under Khatami (December 6th 2004), always in a university (with similar slogans) and the president has answered the same things and the same photos (from governmental agency FARS news) had been published around the world.

Why this “democratic” hurly-burly? | It is indirect propaganda. Extreme situations are staged and the leaders of the regime react democratically to the situation. Even the Teheran’s holocaust conference was involved in this democratic boost: in one hand, the regime has organized this show gathering the well-known negationists and in other hand, the deputy of the Iranian Jewish Community has condemned the government of Ahmadinejad. Moreover, this year, the fake dissidents are in front of the spotlights. We have studied a case in the cinematographic art (with Jafar Panahi and Off side), the mullahs take an interest to the feminists and they gather a crowd of Muslim feminists. We will certainly see flourish simulated movements of protestation in many fields. These simulations have 2 priorities: give an image of a non-monolithic regime and infiltrate the ranks of real dissidents (as Hossein Derakhshan did it, the new colleague of Loïc Lemeur). The only default of these dissidents is that they totally agree on the nuclear policy of Iran and the support for Hezbollah.

This hurly-burly should also create some political tensions and encourage the Iranian to renounce to the boycott of elections which will take place on December 15th. Even if the regime often use archive videos to simulate a large popular participation, the participation will still repudiated by its base. This hurly-burly aims the Medias such as CNN but also the Iranians because the boycott of elections -even denied- will press hard on the future of the regime.
